Max's debute CD release!
Max wrote and produced all the songs that feature top NW musicians and Max's killer guitar chops and vocals! This project has been a long time comin'. This highly anticipated showcase of Max's songs features his dad, Larry Renshaw's final steel guitar performance on "I Were Young Country". Of his dad, Max says "I'm extremely proud to have buffaloed my dad into this recording session he initially didn't want to do. He hadn't played in over 35 years, but he bucked up and did it! I'm so glad he did as it is the only recording of he and I together. We lost dad in December of '07 but we are together forever on this tune. I thank him for the sliver of his talent and his heart he put into my music."
Also on this release, Max's youngest son, Maxwell "Taylor" Renshaw make his debute on drums (Prepare A Place) and backing vocals (Your Holdin' Me Back). All tolled, there are three generations of the Renshaw family represented on this CD! Taylor also plays in his dad's 3 piece band featuring Max on guitar and vocals, Taylor on the drums and vocals and Max's bass player and friend Dave Perry, who played bass on "Prepare A Place" on the CD as well!
Elsewhere on the CD, Max's lifelong friend and musical mentor, Bryan Smith of "The Bryan Randall Smith Sound" fame is featured on keys on several tunes as are the amazing Janet Foos, Peter Ritz and Dick Henderson. Carrying most of the drums is another great friend, Gary Draper who's talents are boundless as well as Henry "Hank" Yanda on the bass. Terry Lauber of "The Brothers four" fame, played steel guitar on "Similar Circumstance" and the irrepressible Jonathan Gilcrest played piano and fiddle on "I Were Young Country". Finally, Paul Anatasio, formerly of "Asleep at the Wheel", Merle Haggart's and Loretta Lynn's bands play fiddle on "Runnin' With A Renegade" Max says "I was very honored to have these great musicians share their time and talents on my project! I'm not worthy!"
Max's CD is expected in '09. Look for it!
